"Vert," the third album by Shadowy Lines, features a mixture of smooth and noisy ambient textures to provide the ideal (?) soundtrack to skateboarders' dreamlike visions of flying high above the coping in seamless hi-def slow motion.
Will "Vert" make you a better skater? Highly unlikely.
Will the album help you get over your fear of trying a 1080 stalefish to nose blunt? It's hard to say.
Will it help you find Animal Chin? Entirely possible.
But if you like ambient music, even if you're not a skateboarder and you have no idea what any of the previous text means, you might like this album. One can hope.
Shadowy Lines is the all-ambient project of Los Angeles musician (and skateboarder and huge Tony Hawk fan) Nathan Stack, whose main music project is Autohypnosis (autohypnosis.net
